FAQ

Is this a Yoga Alliance Registered Training?

Upon completion of our 200-hour training program and examination you will then become a 200-hour certified yoga teacher (CYT). This means you will have the ability to

teach anywhere in the world. We took our exact 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified training  (www.joyyogauniversity.com) and filmed it.

For many years we have had students unable to participate in our training or any other in-studio training due to scheduling conflicts, personal obligations, work schedule, finances, and many other reasons. This prompted us to provide a solution which evolved into our online teacher training certification. Students now have the ability to deepen their practice, and become certified yoga teachers on their own terms  with our online teacher training. Yoga Alliance doesn’t approve online trainings for the lack of contact hours (time in a room) with the lead trainers, however, our 200-hour training will provide you with all of the tools, knowledge and experience needed to become a certified yoga teacher.

Will I be able to get a job as a teacher if I am not registered with Yoga Alliance?

Absolutely! Studios are looking for qualified, and well informed teachers that are able to teach an intelligent and safe yoga class.  We called studios all across the country and asked them if teachers had to be registered with Yoga Alliance to teach for them. 100% of the studios said they were not concerned with whether an instructor was registered with Yoga Alliance, but were interested and wanted to make sure teachers had certifications and were qualified teachers.

What kind of certification will I get with this training?

Upon successful completion of our 200-hour certification, students will become a 200-hour CYT (Certified Yoga Teacher) and receive a 200-hour CYT certificate.

What is included with this training?

In addition to providing you all of the 200-hour content, we will provide you with all of the quizzes, assignments and testing. We will give you a list of resources you may reach out to,if and when you have questions. We also include a one year membership to My Joy Yoga, where we live stream yoga classes directly from our studios. This will allow you to practice with our lead trainers and teachers.

Are there any payment options?

We have broken our training up into two formats. The first is all-inclusive which provides you immediate access to all content. The second is in the format of modules. The module format allows you to pursue one subject at a time and pay per module. This allows students more time to complete the training and to go at a pace that is comfortable for them.

Can I still get certified if I take the individual modules?

You absolutely can! You will just have to complete each individual module and the corresponding quizzes and assignments. You will also have to pass the final exam and upon completion of the final you will then be a 200-hour certified yoga teacher.

What is the testing process like?

At the end of  each module you will complete a quiz before moving onto the next module. You can retake these quizzes up to three times to pass. After you have completed all of these, you will record a final sequence to complete instructor training which you send in to your teachers for evaluation.

How long do I have to complete the training?

We give you one full year to complete the yoga teacher training.

What if I have questions while I am taking a course?

We will provide you with contacts and resources and have a team of teachers ready to help with anything you may need.

What equipment or props do I need to complete the course?

We suggest a yoga mat, two blocks, a strap, and a cushion/pillow/or yoga bolster. We also recommend finding a place in your home where you will practice and study consistently.

Are there any required books or readings for this course?
